TRAFFIC 2012 - Another Great Success!

So TRAFFIC conference has finished and I’m about to assume the “foetal position” and climb aboard a couple of planes for the 26 hour journey back to Australia......trust me when I say that it's not a fun experience. The question that I find myself asking is, “Was it worth it?” and the answer is “You bet it was!”

traffic_logoI’ve been to 17 TRAFFIC conferences (you read that right) and each and every one of them has helped me develop my business now and create opportunities for the future. I would go so far as to say that it’s almost impossible to not do some sort of business……unless, of course, you’ve partying too hard!

Rick, Howard and their families did an incredibly job putting on a great show. I’ve always loved the family atmosphere of a TRAFFIC conference combined with the friends that I’ve made over the many years. All power to the TRAFFIC team!

Michael_Gilmour_100It also never ceases to amaze me the number of people that complain about TRAFFIC while having never bothered to attend one. Seriously, do you think that I’d leave my family 17 times if I didn’t think that it would be worth it???? Stop complaining and criticising and attend one and you’ll see that TRAFFIC is all about business, contacts and doing deals.

What I’ve found is that since I’ve attended so many conferences that friends are now stopping me in the hallway to conduct business and get their domains onto ParkLogic. Over the years people like Adam Dicker and I have become great friends because we’ve both invested in the relationship. We’re now doing some business together because to be quite frank with you I trust Adam’s integrity and the way he works. He doesn’t stuff around and waste your time and you don’t end up plucking daggers out of your back when you’ve turned away. It's qutie the reverse....he's "got your back" and doesn't slam you down to others. These sort of relationships take the investment of a lot of time and an event like TRAFFIC to be the catalyst that brings the people together.

My advice to all that complain about Rick, Howard and the TRAFFIC team is to swallow your pride and build your business by attending the Vegas show next year. I know that I will be there so I hope to see you as well.....in the meantime I've got to start my journey home.
