With the recent changes in parking revenue we are all realizing I am now singling out some of my better domains to be developed. I plan on developing these domains in phases but start out with a basic template consisting of a nice header, some updated content and of course Google Ads which will hopefully make me some $ after it is SEO'd.

The problem is that I can never find a good example of a simple developed domain. Either the domain has had a lot of money dumped at it and is way more developed then I have the resources for at this moment. Or, it is a ridiculous looking 1-pager displaying horrible design elements, irrelevant content, circa 1996 blinking text links (you get the picture).

Does anyone have any good examples of a simple, well designed and profitable developed site. I am not talking generic domains that are no-brainers. But more key-word dense domains that with the proper development and acumen could make some $ from searches.

Just as i thought.

My humblest of apologies.....for not getting to this post. It must of slipped between the cracks.

Here's what I do....
I rented my own server and had the Joomla content management system installed on it. The CMS is free and the server costs about $50 per month. Joomla gives you access to an incredible number of plug-ins (joomla.org) and will allow you to manage a site really simply.

This blog is done in Joomla.

I looked at Joomla before but I did not move forward with it since it seemed very difficult to use it to run multiple sites. If it is actually possible to do this it was way beyond me and the feedback on Joomla forums regarding this was very mixed.

I am familiar with Wordpress and find the WP docs far more thorough.

At this stage I am just eager to see an actual site/page that is making someone some money. In this new age of low parking revenues I am sure there are a lot of us that are beginning to look at development. The only 'developed' sites I have seen are absolute 'shite' and would love to see a site design or layout that works to get proven ideas from.

p.s. how are you feeling on DBS? Still recommending it?

I'm a bit of a fan of Joomla and found that it's pretty easy to use once you get used to it. I'm not really sure of the scalability across massive number of sites though.

As far as DBS is concerned I believe that it's a steal at 55 cents. I think that it's time to do a post on it!

If you lurked around the massmarket domainer forums you could gather plenty of examples.

Given your criteria, look at italianhomerecipes dot com. (not mine) P/t domainer, self-taught. Apparently has about 15,000 uniques monthly, making about $20 per day.

At $20/day that's a great domain!
I would have thought that the RPM figure could have been a lot higher though....

ive used wordpress for this. i have about 50 sites using wordpress for affiliate content as i find it easy to update once a month. site examples are http://www.alltoys.co.uk http://www.ilingerie.co.uk and http://www.totallytacky.co.uk not outstanding domains but the traffic is coming due to what we are putting on them. They make about £50 a month each so x that buy 100 sites i plan on using this method should bring good steady money in.

I also develop bigger sites, latest being http://www.localfavours.co.uk where local people can bid on the jobs you hate doing. I know i have a long way to go but im always a tryer.
